ON THE ROAD WITH ‘YE AND JAY!
This weekend Kanye West and Jay-Z announced their tour dates for Watch the Throne. They also announced an official release date for the album via iTunes, August 8th and in stores August 12th. Some days ago, the duo set the streets on fire with the drop of their first official single Otis. Now answering the call of their fans, they will soon perform at an arena near you. As of now, there are 24 dates listed for the North American tour starting in Detroit, September 22nd. With both album and tickets going on sale August 8th, this is going to be a HOT end to the summer!

In tragic news, London songstress Amy Winehouse was found dead in her home in Camden this past Saturday, July 23rd at the young age of 27. Musically, Amy presented us with two amazingly crafted albums, Frank (2003) and Back to Black (2006). Although taking her time, Amy was slowly putting together a third masterpiece with producer Mark Ronson, before her passing. He tweeted, “She was my musical soulmate and like a sister to me. This is one of the saddest days of my life.” Her loss is felt all over the world.

Fresh off her amazing appearance at the iTunes festival in the UK earlier this month; Adele has released the Urban Noize Remix to her 2008 hit My Heart To Stone feat. Kanye West to give it a different feel. Listen to the link below and tell us what you think.

So it seems as though the artists over at J Records are keeping busy. R&B crooner Tyrese has just leaked two new songs off his upcoming album Open Invitation. For those in need of a slow R&B cut, check out Stay and for those looking for something a little more upbeat…check out his other leak I Gotta Chick That Love Me (feat. R. Kelly and Tyga). Open Invitation is slated for a release later this year.

D’ANGELO BACK IN THE STUDIO
The musical prodigy D’Angelo is back in the studio again, for what we hope is his follow up to his Grammy-winning album Voodoo. Currently burning the midnight oil with ?uestlove, D’Angelo’s third album could be released as early as this year. After an 11 year hiatus, the soulful singer has reportedly collaborated with John Mayer, Prince, Raphael Saadiq and producer Mark Ronson. Now whether or not any of that work will see the light of day, J Records has yet to say. But one can only hope.
